
At Pilates on Fifth, we offer a variety of private, semi-private and group Pilates sessions. We offer the best Pilates mat classes in New York, as well as CARDIOLATES®, advanced CARDIOLATES®, and GYROKINESIS® classes. To get the most out of your workout at Pilates on Fifth, try combining regular private Pilates sessions with Pilates or CARDIOLATES® mat classes. Mat classes are affordable and fun. Since we offer six or seven different classes each day, you can usually find a group class that fits into your schedule.
Our instructors use a variety of props during their Mat Pilates Plus classes to keep the classes lively and entertaining. Props also keep the classes challenging for all levels. Advanced students will discover that props (such as the Arc Barrel or elastic bands) help make their Pilates mat classes more challenging. Beginners will find that these same props help them to better understand Pilates technique.
Using props and small pieces of equipment such as the BOSU® help new students to fire their muscles. Pilates is a different kind of workout because it targets the very deepest "core" muscles of the lower back, abdomen, and buttocks. Finding these deep muscles can be a challenge for new students because they're fairly subtle. Instructors can use props to help new students find and "fire" these deep, subtle muscles.
For a workout that combines the benefits of a Pilates mat class with the heart-pumping, fat-burning fun of a cardio workout, try our CARDIOLATES® classes. CARDIOLATES® was developed right here at Pilates on Fifth. It combines Pilates warm ups and mat exercises with 25-30 minutes of rebounding. Since rebounding is just about as much fun as an exercise system can be, CARDIOLATES® is as enjoyable as it is effective.
