NYC Pilates Certification And Training

It's no secret that New York City is a stressful place. Finding the time to relax and keep fit while balancing a job and often a long commute can be quite difficult. Pilates on Fifth is here to help by offering fun and friendly Pilates training and certification in a convenient location near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. In fact, our passion is making the most advanced techniques in exercise and fitness readily available to you, close to work and everything else that's important in your busy life.

For those who know little or nothing about Pilates, it is a popular, non-impact form of exercise that concentrates on strengthening and aligning the spine and abdomen. Muscles become leaner, longer, more flexible, and more toned. The fluid, non-impact movements tackle stress and improve posture as well. At Pilates on Fifth, our exercise philosophy relies on one-on-one training for beginners that includes custom designed workouts for your particular body type. After all, we understand that different people of various fitness levels will want to address different areas of their bodies, and we are more than happy to comply!

Once you feel comfortable using the equipment, classes can be arranged in pairs and trios, so friends can have some fun while training together. Most of our Pilates and other equipment classes contain no more than four people, except for our Mat Pilates Plus classes, which may have up to 12. Personal attention is always available in our Pilates classes because we consider this a central part of proper Pilates training. Monthly membership is also available, and experienced reformer and other equipment users can enjoy the machines whenever they desire.

Outside Pilates, we have recently invested in an exciting new exercise form called GYROTONIC®, which stresses a larger range of motion compared to Pilates. Pilates focuses on aligning the spine and controlling the body through the abdomen. GYROTONIC® focuses on releasing through a full range of controlled motion. GYROTONIC® also stresses three-dimensional movement, whereas Pilates uses more two-dimensional movements. Though we continue our emphasis on Pilates, we also want our clients to have access to the newest trends in exercise, so contact us today for more information on our Pilates and GYROTONIC® instruction.
