Become A Pilates Instructor

The world of Pilates can be a rarefied one. In fact, the Pilates subculture can be so esoteric (and occasionally cliquish) that it has little "real world" value. Yes, Pilates is beautiful, and when performed by experts, it is gorgeous to watch. But at Pilates on Fifth and the Pilates Academy International, we never forget that the vast majority of Pilates clients are not dancers. They're not movement experts. They're ordinary, professional people who have specific, real world goals.

When you become a Pilates instructor, you are entrusted with your clients' goals. Clients may come to you with very specific goals that mean a great deal to them. One client may want to improve his golf game; another may want to be able to play tennis without aggravating her tendons; a third may want to learn how to sit in front of the computer all day without physically suffering because of it.

At the Pilates Academy International, we empower you to become a Pilates instructor fully capable of addressing these goals. Helping someone learn to stack her vertebrae or relax her shoulders may not seem terribly glamorous, but it will dramatically change that client's life--and she will love you for it. Learn to listen to your clients' needs and help them achieve their goals, and you will become a Pilates instructor clients absolutely love.

Pilates Academy International is the instructor certification school within Pilates on Fifth. Study with us, and we will teach you anatomy, biomechanics, Pilates Mat Plus, and Pilates equipment, as well as Pilates for injuries and special health conditions. Pilates Academy International is in the process of applying for NOCA accreditation. To learn more, call us at 212-687-3787, or email us at training@pilatesonfifth.com.
