It was during almost 2 years of rehabilitation that Saralyn discovered Pilates and its benefits; working on the Reformer three times a week made her knee and entire body stronger than it had ever been. Saralyn became fully certified in Stott Pilates in 2004 and began teaching full time at Renaissance Pilates in Hoboken, NJ. In 2006 she completed her CARDIOLATES® and Pilates Academy International certification, and started teaching at Pilates on Fifth. Meanwhile, she is back in the dance studio and auditioning regularly. Saralyn is a certifying instructor for the Pilates Academy Internaitonal, and hopes one day to combine her loves of teaching Pilates, Dance, and Choreography into a career as a university dance professor.

Michelle Weber
Michelle began her own practice of Pilates and The Gyrotonic Expansion System four years ago. The results were so astonishing that she could not begin to think of not sharing this with people. There was an immediate feeling of freedom in her body. The length, flexibility, and stability that she gained really helped to alleviate any aches and pains she had acquired. Her training in the movement arts began as a young child in Massachusetts taking dance lessons. She decided that dance was her career at age 11, and has never turned back! This choice led her to the opportunities to dance at Walt Disney World, as her first professional experience, and then on to Los Angeles. There, she had the chance to work with amazing artists in both the capacity of dancer and assistant choreographer on many film and television projects such as Alley McBeal, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Michael Jackson’s “Ghosts.” Live theatre seemed to be grabbing her interest once more, and she was lucky to have the opportunity to come back East to work for the holiday season for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Since that time theatre has been keeping her busy with opportunities such as the First National Tour of CONTACT, and Ring of Fire on Broadway, as well as many new theatre projects. This year she had the opportunity to choreograph three music videos for the contestants on American Idol, and is currently involved in pre-production for the upcoming movie version of A Christmas Carol. Michelle also has always had a passion for teaching. Along with her choreography and dance career, she currently teaches master classes for children and adults incorporating the art of dance, along with the necessity of training your body and your mind in a healthy way with Pilates and the Gyrotonic Expansion System. The idea of personal growth means many things to each of us. Michelle believes that no matter where you are in your growth, you can enhance that process by physically working toward a place of feeling “at home” in your body. That level of comfort allows an amazing amount of freedom to flow from within you!

Janet Yen
Janet YenJanet is a Stott Pilates certified instructor and a certifying instructor for Pilates Academy International. She is qualified to teach all levels on apparatus as well as matwork and has completed additional training on injuries and special populations. She holds an honors degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley and has previously worked as an advertising executive for clients such as Victoria's Secret and Starwood Hotels.

Her dance background includes performances with San Francisco regional companies such as San Francisco Dance Theater. In New York she has performed with off-Broadway productions and continued her dance education at Broadway Dance and Dance New Amsterdam. She discovered Pilates in dance class and was pleased to discover they weren't just warm-up exercises invented by her teachers! Janet has just returned from a year of teaching in Shanghai where she was the first Pilates instructor at two of the city's top fitness studios. She hopes to be a part of the growing wellness industry in that region of the world.
